Our project consists of building and distributing portable chickens’ coop packages for NGOs with land who feed the poor…
With the slogan ‘Leave No One Behind!‘, the Educational Farm to Fork project welcomes both young and old to learn different concepts on sustainable farming and gardening through practice and techniques to stay healthy.
WE BELIEVE IN ALBANIA WITHOUT HUNGER.
Feeding Albania is a community of organisations, businesses and individuals that envisions seeing all Albanian people fed well and healthy.
This community believes that it is fully possible for all Albanians to have qualitative and nutritious food on their tables. Through our food banking initiatives, through the think-tank groups, projects on community awareness and lobbying to the institutions, the organisation is focusing on securing food for all people, without discrimination of race, gender, religious belonging or social level.
THE RIGHT TO FOOD is made clear in the Universal Declaration of the United Nations on Human Rights, article 25, which states that “Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.”
According to statistics, Albanians spend more than 50% of their monthly budget on FOOD. While in neighbouring and European countries, the percentage is almost always lower than 20 %. This pessimistic figure doesn’t just show the poverty of our people; it also shows how much work we have to do as a nation to overcome poverty. We are a community that aims at proving that, when we all come together for the goal of feeding our people, we will start believing that hunger cannot prevail.
We also believe that the health of the people is directly connected with the quality and the quantity of the food consumed. We believe that it would cost much less for the budget of our families and that of the state, if the FOOD SYSTEMS, would take adequate attention, starting from the crops in the fields, transportation and warehousing practices, manufacturing processes, trade and redistribution of food to the population. Medical costs would be lower, school results would be better, and people would live happier if we all ate as we should. We know that poor or hungry people, cannot raise their voices for themselves and thus, we will do all we can to raise our voice on their behalf.
